The coloring the way it was meant to be...

Both Egmont and Gemstone seem to have neglected the fact that Don Rosa's stories take place in the mid-1950s, when this page was colored. This is what Don Rosa says about his intentions for the coloring of this actual page:
America had national color TV broadcasts starting on January 1, 1954. By 1955 there were 20,000 color TVs in service, but they cost plenty, as did ALL TVs. A color TV cost $1000 in 1955, probably half as much as a car. STILL... no local news broadcasts were in color in 1955, and it was my direction that the TV images would be in b&w. But nobody pays attention to my coloring directives.
